Our good friend Rebecca Wood is having her first show apart of the Contact Photography Festival this year at Mercury espresso bar on Queen East. It was a wonderful opening – and we couldn’t have had better weather. I can’t wait to check out some other great exhibits that are taking place during Contact.

This little man is about to become a big bro. I met up with him a few weeks ago to capture this time in his life, just before the BIG change. I’ll be back soon to capture the arrival of his little sister or brother so stay tuned for part two.
Who doesn’t love a good tickle? When I was little my dad used to tickle the bejeebers (not sure if that is a word but you get what I mean!) out of us. Once I laughed so hard I peed! I had warned my Dad but he just wouldn’t listen!

I LOVE it when we get to visit with families who we haven’t seen for a couple years! These two have grown up a lot in two years (the shot below was taken in almost exactly two years ago) – but I’m so glad to see that they haven’t lost their silliness!

I captured this brother and sister a few weeks back and they brought their game to the shoot. This is one of the more subdued images, but it really beautiful captures how close they are. I love it in black and white, but the shot is also pretty cool in color as the bow in sis’s hair is cherry red!
We are having so much fun with this contest! I love giving gifts and this contest has felt like a great big prezzie! Every Christmas my husband’s Nanna & Grandpa give us a gift card for a restaurant (date night when you have a toddler is a BIG DEAL let me tell you!!) and a “scratch ticket” as Nanna calls it. I’ve never been a gambler but whether it’s BINGO or “Cash for Life”, the daydreaming I do with what I’ll spend my prize on in the 2.5 minutes it takes to scratch the cover off is so much fun! What would you do with your ipad? Read a book on it? Carry it around in your diaper bag with baby games on it? Track you training for the Sporting Life 10k? Seek out cool new restaurants in Toronto’s burgeoning food scene?

With some moments of unseasonably warm spring weather of late I have been taking the opportunity to get outside and shoot. The day I met up with these cool kids and their folks was unfortunately NOT one of those unseasonably warm spring days. Lucky for me, these kids are not only cool, but also creative. Can you tell they are freezing in these photos?? Here they are imagining that they are warm and I totally believe them. Definitely Oscar worthy!
Having a studio in the Annex means we not only have some pretty sweet parks nearby, but we also have some sweet graffiti walls. I love how the colors and shapes make for a great backdrop for sibling cuddles.
